News reporters are the best people to have a conversation with.  "We know a lot about nothing and a little bit about everything."

Doug was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and graduated Hofstra University on Long Island. He calls himself a "city guy", so naturally he takes advantage of all Downtown San Diego has to offer.

"It couldn't be any better coming to the greatest place on earth to do what I love!"

Geographically, Doug has been lucky throughout his broadcasting career.  "I started in Binghamton, NY, which was close enough to my home where my lovely mother could still do my laundry."
He then traded his snow ski's for water ski's, and moved to Fort Myers, Florida where he was mainly a traffic anchor for WBBH-TV.
"When I got the phone call to come to News 8 in San Diego, my heart stopped, my jaw dropped.  I thought, how could I be this lucky?"

Doug asked himself that question one more time when he had the opportunity to report live from Petco Park on Barry Bonds record tying home run ball.
"I'm a huge baseball fan and always had an interest reporting on sports, but reporting on a pinnacle moment in sports history was almost surreal.”

Although sports is his passion, he says there is no better feeling than telling a heartfelt story while helping people in need.

Doug is very close to his family in New Jersey.  He speaks to his mother daily.  His only brother Craig followed him out to San Diego and is his best friend.

Doug enjoys watching films and cooking. Since moving to California he also recently took up surfing and playing guitar.
