Welcome to News 8’s Give Your Heart to Kids

Children are our most precious resource, and it’s easy to give our hearts to our kids. But sadly, there are thousands of children in San Diego County who don’t have that love and support. In 2005, there were nearly 75,000 substantiated cases of child abuse in San Diego County and there are nearly 7,000 children in the foster care system. Please join CBS 8 and the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation in helping to make a positive difference in the life of a child.

8 WAYS TOO GIVE YOUR HEART TO KIDS:!

Adopt a Child:
A child is waiting…find out how you can provide a loving forever home for a child in San Diego’s Foster Care system. Visit www.iadoptu.org, today or call 1-877-I-ADOPT-U.

Give to the CAPF Foster Fund: Each year hundreds of children leave foster care with no financial support to pursue higher education. Invest in the future of a former foster youth by supporting CAPF’s scholarship program today. Visit our scholarship page online or call 858-278-4400.

Become a Special Advocate (CASA): You can be the voice for children in the foster care system by becoming a court appointed special advocate. For more information, contact Voices for Children at 858-569-2019, or by visiting www.voices4children.org.
